An interview with Reiss

TTT:
Thanks for doing this Reiss. After two packed editions we’re looking forward to conclude the season with you and the Nimma crowd. How has this recent period of re-opening been for you and did the feeling of a somewhat late summer of love eventually get to you in any form?
Reiss:
My pleasure guys! Cant wait to be back in Nimma, as I always love the crowd and overal vibe of the scene there. Re-opening has been an absolute joy for me. I have been traveling and touring a lot in the past 1,5 months and experiencing the unadulterated pleasure of an energy exchange with a crowd after an almost 2 year dry spell. Hard to capture in words what this means to me, but  it feels like I can finally breathe again :).

TTT:
Of course, you’ve joined us before at our beloved Brebl and one of our original A La Playa outings. You’ll now be playing right across the Waal river at Stek, looking out over that particular beach. Are there any specific feelings that come up while thinking back to that special day, and would you care share any tracks that you associate with that Playa feeling?
Reiss:
Aaah man! That was such a special day :). As I recall we had dinner first at the family house of Daaf or Steph, then Brebl and afterwards on that special beach spot. Especially that last chapter was so good! I have a super nice picture and this track by Brian Harden, which I never played before, but felt so accurate at that specific spot.
TTT:
In the meantime we’ve all been taken on quite a ride considering the downtime we’ve all experienced for the past 1,5 years. Could you possibly illustrate what role music played in your life during these turbulent times?
Reiss:
Hard to overestimate the role music played for me during these times man. Its been my anchor into sanity and my dot on the horizon of joy.

TTT:
Besides the beautiful events thrown throughout the country since clubculture has partly re-opened. A full reincarnation of actual nightlife has yet to come. Looking forward, what prospects do you have for the near future?
Reiss:
Well in the immediate future there is the reincarnation of ADE to look forward to and actually a lot of European dates that I will be playing. I, however, wont be satisfied until the Dutch nightlife culture returns back to some semblance of normality. I feel there is no rational obstacle left for it  to do so when, even with almost 100k people on the streets with the unmute.us protest, there was no significant spike in the number of infections.
TTT:
Very well-spoken, and thanks again for taking the time for this.
See you on the 10th of October!
